The Problem

Kidney Research Infrastructure
Is a Decade Behind.

A typical nephrology lab runs GraphPad for statistics, REDCap for data capture, Excel for tracking, and custom scripts for analysis — none communicating, none understanding kidney disease, none with AI.

5+
Disconnected tools per lab
Clinical data, preclinical results, and statistics live in separate, incompatible systems that require manual engineering to connect.
$50K+
Minimum enterprise platform cost
Existing AI research platforms require IT procurement, EHR integration, and six-figure contracts. Most research labs never qualify or have access.
0
Kidney-specific AI platforms
No commercial product understands CKD staging, KFRE, disease-specific biomarkers, or renal drug interactions natively. Researchers configure generic tools from scratch.
One platform replaces five disconnected tools
01GraphPad Prism — statistics & figuresReplaced
02REDCap — clinical data captureReplaced
03Excel — cohort tracking spreadsheetsReplaced
04Custom analysis scriptsReplaced
05Generic AI chatbots — zero data contextReplaced

Patient Trajectory Forecasting  ·  Trial Eligibility Screening  ·  Hypothesis Generation from Biomarker Correlations  ·  Natural Language Cohort Querying  ·  Cross-Study Translational Pattern Recognition  ·  Clinical Note Extraction  ·  Unsupervised Biomarker Signature Clustering  ·  Drug Repurposing Intelligence  ·  ClinicalTrials.gov Live Feed  ·  Preclinical AI Analysis (8 modules)
Layer 03Clinical Trial Matching Network
Connect sponsors with sites. Without exposing patient data.

A two-sided marketplace connecting pharmaceutical sponsors with kidney disease research sites. Sponsors post structured eligibility criteria. Researchers screen their local cohorts — patient records never leave the researcher's system.

Privacy Architecture: All eligibility matching runs locally within each researcher's browser. Only site name, PI email, and an aggregate patient count cross the site-to-sponsor boundary. No patient identifiers. No clinical records. No exceptions.
Layer 04Publication Studio
From raw data to published paper. End-to-end.

The only research platform with a complete publishing workflow built in. Five integrated tools that take a researcher from data to submitted manuscript — without leaving Nephpros.

01
Figure Studio
Upload any data file. AI generates a publication-ready SVG figure automatically — bar charts, scatter plots, KM curves, heatmaps, forest plots, volcano plots. Journal-specific formatting for JASN, AJKD, KI, Nature Medicine, NEJM, JAMA, Lancet. SVG and PNG download.
02
Peer Review Tool
Upload any manuscript. AI performs a full structured peer review — major concerns, minor concerns, statistical audit, methods evaluation, clinical plausibility check, and recommendation. Also drafts point-by-point rebuttal responses using your actual cohort data.
03
Paper Generator
Six tools: Paper Compass identifies every publishable paper in your data. Literature Synthesizer maps the field from uploaded references. Outline Builder, Full Draft Generator (~3,500 words from your actual numbers), Abstract Generator, and Cover Letter Writer — all journal-specific.
04
Poster Maker
Generate a complete A0 conference poster from your loaded data, from an uploaded paper, or from custom content. Three color schemes. AI layouts the poster with embedded data visualizations. SVG download for infinite-resolution printing.
05
Submission Tools
Journal Matcher ranks the top 5 journals for your paper. Reporting Checklist verifies against STROBE, CONSORT, ARRIVE, PRISMA, CARE, or TRIPOD. Manuscript Verifier checks every reported number against your actual loaded data. Author Contributions generator uses CRediT taxonomy.
Layer 05AI Research Chat
A collaborator that knows your data.

Not a generic chatbot. A nephrology-specialized AI research assistant with full awareness of your loaded cohort — patient count, disease distribution, biomarker values, CKD staging, animal studies, everything. Ask anything about your research, methodology, statistics, grant strategy, or clinical interpretation. It answers specifically about your data, not in generalities.

01
Cohort-Aware Responses
Every response is grounded in your actual loaded data. Ask "what are the strongest correlations in my cohort?" and get a specific answer — not a generic explanation of what correlations are.
02
Multi-Turn Memory
Remembers the full conversation within each session. Build on previous questions, refine hypotheses, work through complex methodological decisions over multiple exchanges.
03
Deep Nephrology Expertise
Expert-level knowledge of all 10 kidney disease types, KDIGO guidelines, biomarker interpretation, biostatistics, grant writing, and academic publishing — embedded in every response.
04
Save to Lab Notebook
Any conversation can be exported to the Lab Notebook with one click — creating a permanent record of the research thinking and AI-assisted decisions made during a session.
Layer 06Lab Notebook
Every experiment. Every insight. Captured automatically.

A complete auto-generated research journal. Every upload, analysis, AI interaction, figure generation, and platform event is timestamped and recorded without any researcher input. Combined with AI-written daily narratives, Nephpros creates the lab notebook that researchers used to spend hours writing by hand.

01
Automatic Capture
Every action logged: data uploads with record counts, AI tool runs with outputs, figure exports, preclinical analyses, chat sessions, login and logout events. Zero manual input required.
02
AI Daily Narrative
One click generates an AI-written professional narrative of the day's research activity — written in formal past tense, third person, the way a real lab notebook should read. IRB and grant-reviewer ready.
03
Manual Annotations
Add free-text notes, observations, hypotheses, and decisions alongside automatic entries. Everything timestamped and attributed to the researcher who wrote it.
04
Timeline & Export
Full timeline view grouped by date. Filter by event type. Export complete notebook as text file for IRB submission, grant appendix, or institutional record-keeping.
Layer 07Collaboration & Governance
Built for teams. Governed like a regulated system.

Nephpros isn't a single-user tool. Multiple researchers can share a lab, request access to each other's cohorts, and follow a live feed of what's happening across the team — while every study stays locked, versioned, and auditable.

01
Labs & Lab Members
Invite colleagues into a shared lab workspace. One institution, one shared research environment — instead of scattered spreadsheets and email attachments.
02
Cross-Lab Access Requests
Request access to another lab's cohort for collaboration or multi-site studies. Owners approve or deny explicitly — nothing is shared automatically.
03
Team Activity Feed
A live, lab-wide feed of uploads, analyses, AI tool runs, and comments — so every collaborator knows what changed and when, without asking.
04
Threaded Comments
Discuss a patient record, dataset, or finding directly where the work happened, with full comment threads — instead of context lost in email.
05
Study Locks
Lock a study to freeze its data and analyses before sharing, publishing, or submitting for review — preventing silent changes after the fact.
06
Automatic Version History
Every locked study keeps a full version history, so past states can be reviewed or restored — not just an audit log, but the actual underlying data.
Getting started is guided, not googled: new researchers get a walkthrough on first login, and can reach NEPHPROS Support — an in-app AI assistant — any time they get stuck.
